Apex Announces Available Upgrades For New M&P M2.0

PEORIA, Ariz. – Apex Tactical Specialties, the leading manufacturer of aftermarket drop-in firearms parts, announces available Apex upgrades for the new M&P M2.0 from Smith & Wesson.

“We’ve been working with the new M&P M2.0 pistol and are pleased to announce that several of our existing parts designed for the M&P are compatible in the new M&P M2.0, in 9mm and .40S&W, and deliver the kind of performance upgrade customers have come to expect from Apex,” said Scott Folk, vice president of Apex Tactical Specialties.

The Apex Action Enhancement Trigger, in either Polymer (#100-025) or Aluminum (#100-064), replaces the factory hinged trigger for a more ergonomic and responsive trigger featuring a center-mounted pivoting safety. When combined with the Apex Action Enhancement Kit (#100-062), the result is a smoother, lighter trigger pull with an overall reduction in trigger travel of approximately 30%.

“In addition to improving trigger performance with upgrades to the fire control components, our patent pending Apex Grade 9mm Barrels, originally designed for the M&P, fit the new M&P M2.0 allowing for greater accuracy than what is achievable in the stock configuration,” noted Randy Lee, founder and CEO of Apex Tactical Specialties, who designed and developed the Apex Grade Barrel.

The list of Apex parts compatible with the new M&P M2.0, and currently available, are as follows:

100-025 Apex Polymer Action Enhancement Trigger (100-126)*

100-064 Apex Aluminum Action Enhancement Trigger (100-179)*

100-062 Apex Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit

100-066 Apex Duty/Carry Spring Kit

100-063 Apex Fully Machined Sear

100-075 Apex Ultimate Safety Plunger

100-036 Apex 10-8 Performance Base Pads

105-050 Apex Grade 9mm Gunsmith Fit Barrel – 5.00”

105-051 Apex Grade 9mm Gunsmith Fit Barrel – 4.25”

105-052 Apex Grade 9mm Semi Drop-In Barrel – 5.00”

105-053 Apex Grade 9mm Semi Drop-In Barrel – 4.25”

105-058 Apex Grade 9mm Threaded Gunsmith Fit Barrel – 5.00”

105-059 Apex Grade 9mm Threaded Gunsmith Fit Barrel – 4.25”

105-060 Apex Grade 9mm Threaded Semi Drop-In Barrel – 5.00”

105-061 Apex Grade 9mm Threaded Semi Drop-In Barrel – 4.25”

Apex will continue development of additional replacement parts for the new M&P M2.0, including work on adapting their patented Forward Set Sear and Trigger system which does not currently function in the M2.0 but is one of the most popular upgrades available for the original M&P line of centerfire pistols.

*Updated: Use of the Action Enhancement Triggers required the 2-Dot Sear. Kits 100-126 and 100-179 are the combined Trigger and Duty/Carry Kit.

9mm in the M&P is the caliber with the biggest accuracy issues. That is what needed to be addressed.

  2. Eric - November 14, 2017 @ 12:59 am

What magwell is that? I am looking for that does the 2.0. It’s not listed on your site

  3. paul - November 14, 2017 @ 1:38 pm

We do not make magwells. Check Speed Shooter Specialties.

  4. Pat - November 15, 2017 @ 9:29 am

I just bought a 2.0 40 cal with the hope if finding a drop in .357 Sig barrel. Do you make one?

  5. paul - November 15, 2017 @ 9:39 am

Unfortunately, we do not. Only the 9mm and 40-to-9 conversion barrels.

  6. Po - November 20, 2017 @ 9:47 am

Can the Action Enhancement Trigger (100-025) be safely installed on the M&P M2.0 Compact without the Duty/Carry kit? I believe I read someone was able to install the trigger with the stock M2.0 sear with no problems.

  7. paul - November 20, 2017 @ 3:24 pm

You are very likely to run into problems running the trigger without the sear. You want to order the 100-126 kit if you want to run a Duty/Carry set up.

  8. Stuart - November 21, 2017 @ 1:00 am

Is the Competition Action enhancement kit compatible with the m&p 2.0?
I used the CAEK with the flat faced trigger kit for my performance center m&p and it took my trigger down to about 2 lbs.
Can I do the same with the 2.0 flat face trigger kit and the CAEK?
For range use only as I am Canadian.

  9. Jaron - November 29, 2017 @ 5:40 pm

I have a 2.0 compact is there a threaded barrel offered for the compact yet, and if not when can we expect to see one?

  10. paul - December 4, 2017 @ 2:52 pm

Not yet and we do not have a time frame for a Threaded M2.0 Compact barrel.

  11. Yonnie - January 3, 2018 @ 5:11 pm

Hello I have 2.0 compact I want to put one of your triggers in what do I need I want to change as little internals as possible thank you

  12. Tyler - January 3, 2018 @ 8:23 pm

Will you be offering just the trigger shoe itself for the 2.0?

  13. paul - January 4, 2018 @ 10:52 am

No. The fire control system, due to factory tolerance variations, requires use of the trigger AND kit for reliability.

  14. paul - January 4, 2018 @ 10:53 am

You will have to get one of our full trigger kits, which means you’ll end up changing the trigger, safety plunger and sear, along with the accompanying springs. The sear actuator as well if you get the Forward Set Flatty kit for the M2.0.

  15. Carey - January 12, 2018 @ 11:04 am

I’ve got the S&W 9mm Shield M2.0. Which barrel do I need? I want the threaded for sure but I don’t know what the 4.25 or 5 is. What do I need?

  16. paul - January 15, 2018 @ 8:46 am

We do not have a barrel for the Shield.

  17. Terry - January 19, 2018 @ 11:28 am

    I have a S&W 2.O in .40 S&W with a 5 inch barrel. Do you make a 40 to a 9 conversion barrel for this gun. Thanks

  18. paul - January 19, 2018 @ 11:44 am

    Apex Grade Semi Drop-In 40/9 Conversion Barrel M&P – 5.00” Part #105-056

  19. Matthew - January 20, 2018 @ 10:22 pm

I have the 5” tactical that I’m upgrading to a competition gun. I’m wanting to install the trigger and enhancement kit but don’t want the duty/carry one. Do you offer the competition spring kit for the 2.0 yet?

  20. D. Santurri - January 25, 2018 @ 9:24 am

Can I install just your sear in the new 2.0 or do I have to buy the whole kit

  21. Andy Davis - January 29, 2018 @ 12:12 am

Hi, love your products!!! I am looking for a semi drop-in threaded barrel for M&P 45 2.0 and the forward set flatty kit (aluminum) shoe, do you make them for the 45?

  22. paul - January 29, 2018 @ 9:05 am

We do not have barrels chambered in .45ACP. But you can order the Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit for the M&P M2.0 now. The part number is 100-154.

  23. paul - January 29, 2018 @ 9:07 am

You want to run one of the full kits. Trust us.

  24. paul - January 29, 2018 @ 9:08 am

You want the Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit. #100-154.

  25. Jeremy - February 8, 2018 @ 2:34 pm

Are you guys going to make a failure resistant exractor for the 9mm 2.0?

  26. Walter Zaccagnini - February 11, 2018 @ 10:31 am

    I, I have an M & P 40 M2.0 – Barrel 4.25.
I would like to install a COMPETITION kit, from 3lb., Similar to that of the M & P 45. (I have a full size M & P 45, with an APEX model COMPETITION kit, and it’s great!)
I would like to know if you have sold this kit for the M & P 40 M2.0
    TNX Walter

  27. paul - February 12, 2018 @ 11:40 am

It is something that Randy is looking out but there is no release timeline in mind at that point.

  28. paul - February 12, 2018 @ 11:45 am

We do not offer a competition kit for the M2.0. However, using our spring guide allows you dial it in to the lowest pull weight. Our results are based on a brand new pistol. You may find yours falling into that sub four pound range.

  29. Walter Zaccagnini - February 12, 2018 @ 10:34 pm

    TNX Paul! ?
Se dite a me il numero di codice, posso prenotare da BROWNELLS ITALIA.

Spero che mettiate presto in commercio un kit da 3lb. per la mia 40 M2.0 ?

    Grazie ancora Paul!

  30. Andy Davis - February 17, 2018 @ 11:27 am

Hi Paul, you had told me that When I had asked you about the Flat Faced forward set sear and Trigger kits for the M&P 45 2.0, you had told me to order 100-154 and that will work.

Well I just received my Trigger in the mail and says right on the packaging Does Not Function in the M&P, M&P Shield, or M&P M2.0 .45 ACP models.
That is what I bought it so what is the story here will it work or won’t it? I don’t want to go through all my time taking it apart and not having it work!

  31. paul - February 17, 2018 @ 12:47 pm

If you have the 100-154 it does work in the M2.0 in 45ACP. The product cards were printed before the 45ACP model was released and tested.

As you will see on our website we list what models the kit will function in (see below).

    Applicable To What Gun(s)
Works with the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 (9mm/.40S&W/.45ACP), including the M&P M2.0 Compact, only.
Not for use in the original M&P models.

  32. Ty Trigg - February 20, 2018 @ 2:43 pm

Will you be offering a 40 to 9mm conversion barrel for the 2.0 compact model?

  33. paul - February 20, 2018 @ 3:23 pm

Not currently in the works but likely something we will add later down the road.

  34. Bryce - February 22, 2018 @ 11:00 am

Do you offer a 9mm barrel for the 2.0 compact?

  35. paul - February 22, 2018 @ 11:38 am

Yes. Order part # 105-049. This is the Apex Grade Semi Drop-In M&P M2.0 Compact Barrel.

  36. Andy Davis - February 22, 2018 @ 6:29 pm

Paul, thank you for clarifying, I was confused until I spoke with a representative and they clarified the same as you just did. Thank you again for your time. Absolutely love that Trigger so much in my 45 I am getting one for my 9mm 5 ‘’

  37. David Morris - March 2, 2018 @ 8:11 am

I would like to see a 5-inch 357 Sig Barrel for the Smith & Wesson M&P 40 2.0 5-inch, will there be one available in the future?

  38. paul - March 12, 2018 @ 8:41 am

    Not likely to happen.

  39. paul - March 12, 2018 @ 4:25 pm

Dropping the M2.0 down to such a low weight can subject the fire control system to reliability problems. That is why we do not recommend combining the Forward Set Trigger Kit with the Competition AE Kit.

  40. Brad - March 26, 2018 @ 6:13 pm

So the trigger kit sku 100-179 will not work in the M2.0

  41. paul - March 27, 2018 @ 8:52 am

100-179 is specifically for use in the M&P M2.0 models.

  42. Joe - March 29, 2018 @ 8:23 am

Will the factory spring in the 2.0 5” .40 run reliable with the drop in 40-9 barrel and 9mm ammo?

  43. paul - March 29, 2018 @ 9:04 am

We recommend changing the recoil spring to that for he 9mm so you do not have any cycling issues.

  44. Malik - April 8, 2018 @ 8:22 pm

Looking for threaten barrel for M&P 9mm 2.0 full size?

  45. Jim bBuckhouse - April 15, 2018 @ 4:19 pm

What upgrades do you offer for the 2.0 in 40S&W with a 5” barrel?

  46. Nathan - May 5, 2018 @ 9:49 am

I’d like to run a comp on my 5” M&P 9. Any plans on making a 5.5” threaded 9mm barrel?

  47. Nathan - May 5, 2018 @ 9:53 am

Never mind, I see you already make such a barrel. Apologies.

  48. paul - May 16, 2018 @ 9:07 am

100-154, the Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit.

  49. paul - May 16, 2018 @ 9:09 am

Our threaded 9mm barrel fits the M&P M2.0 as well.

  50. John H - August 24, 2018 @ 9:04 pm

I have the S&W M&P 45 mod 2.0 in the 4.65″ and I have a 45 Shield as well. Both weapons have the full kits offered by Apex and I would buy them again without thinking about. Such a wonderful improvement over stock. If Apex made a trigger for my AR10, I would buy it too. Good job guys, you are responsive to you customer base and made excellent products. I had a M&P Compact 2.0 9mm and installed the trigger kit in it. Unreal and stupid good. When I traded the 9mm on the 45 the LGS guys really loved the new trigger and everyone had to play with it. I went back to 45 for EDC so the 9mm went to a new home on a trade. Cheers.
