Scott Folk Takes 1st Master At 2016 S&W Indoor Nationals

LOS OSOS, Calif. – Scott Folk of Team Apex returned to the winner’s circle at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals after finishing third overall in the Revolver division to claim the 1st Master title. Last year Folk took 1st Expert in the Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) division at this event.

Folk shot the match using an Apex custom tuned Smith & Wesson Model 625 revolver drawn from a Comp-Tac brand holster. His final time of 374.07 seconds, scoring 112 points down, was the third best finish among the 21 competitors in the division. The only two shooters to outpace Folk were Distinguished Masters Jerry Miculek (325.93) and Josh Lentz (300.11) of Team Smith & Wesson.

“This year’s Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals was a very technical match with non-threat targets on each stage putting a premium on accuracy. Despite the challenging stages I was able to put together a solid enough run, against a talented pool of shooters, to take 1st Master,” said Folk.

In addition to competing in the match, Apex Tactical Specialties supported the championship as a stage sponsor. Folk also worked the match as the on-site gunsmith helping competitors maintain their equipment, and in a handful of cases resolving equipment issues that could have resulted in match disqualifications.

The 2016 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals took place February 18-20 on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Mass.
