Apex Customer Advisory Regarding Sig Sauer P320 Trigger Products

Due to Sig Sauer’s recently announced “voluntary upgrade” of the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, announced on August 8, 2017, Apex Tactical Specialties, out of an abundance of caution, has chosen until further notice to suspend sales of those aftermarket trigger products specifically designed for use in the Sig Sauer P320.

Additionally, for those customers that have purchased an Apex Curved Advanced Trigger, part# 112-022, due to how closely the Curved Advanced Trigger’s design reflects that of the current Sig Sauer stock factory trigger, we are asking customers to stop using this trigger and to please contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com to return the trigger in exchange for credit towards any one of our Apex products.

Regarding the Apex Flat Advanced Trigger, part# 112-021, and the Apex Flat-Faced Action Enhancement Trigger, part# 112-020, Apex engineers have conducted controlled drop tests at the -30 degree angle with each of these flat triggers and have not had a discharge occur. HOWEVER, because this is too small a sample, and due to the fact that Sig Sauer has indicated that its voluntary upgrade will include more than just the trigger, we advise caution and warn against accepting use of either of these two Apex triggers as solutions to the factory drop safe issue. They Are Not.

If you own and have installed an Apex aftermarket trigger for your P320, and in light of the recent announcement from Sig Sauer you feel it is unsafe to use, please discontinue using or carrying your pistol immediately. Below we outline what steps to take based on which model of Apex trigger you own and when and where it was purchased.

For the Curved Advanced Trigger (part# 112-022):
1) Remove from service immediately and contact Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com to exchange for credit.

For the Flat Advanced Trigger (part# 112-021):
1) If purchased from Apex within the last 30 days, contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com for an RMA and refund, or credit towards another Apex product.

2) If purchased from a retail source other than Apex, or purchased from Apex more than 30 days ago, contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com for an RMA and credit towards another Apex product.

Flat-Faced Action Enhancement Trigger (Part# 112-020):
1) If purchased from Apex within the last 30 days, contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com for an RMA and refund, or credit towards another Apex product.

2) If purchased from a retail source other than Apex, or purchased from Apex more than 30 days ago, contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 or Guns@ApexTactical.com for an RMA and credit towards another Apex product.

Notice To Dealers

Dealers who have stock of unsold Apex triggers for the Sig Sauer P320 (SKU# 112-020, 112-021 or 112-022) may contact Apex’s Dealer Sales Manager at Dealer@ApexTactical.com and request a return for credit of the product they have on hand.

Any product returned to our Dealers and Distributors for refund may be subsequently returned to Apex for a refund in the form of a credit as well.

Thank You for Your Patience

As a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of aftermarket products for firearms, Apex strives to produce products that are beneficial to the end user and improve function, while maintaining or enhancing factory safety values. With the latest release of information from Sig Sauer, we have chosen to discontinue the sale of our P320 aftermarket triggers until such time as we can thoroughly test our products with the latest Sig Sauer upgrades for the P320.

We hope that will be sooner rather than later, but it could take some time for us to receive the necessary factory upgrades for our R&D P320 pistols. We appreciate your understanding, and especially your patience, in the matter.

Thank you!! I do not own any of your products but had been planning to purchase one of the flat triggers for my P320. I am impressed with your decision regarding refunds or credits and will make a purchase of something from your site to show my support.

  2. Jake - August 10, 2017 @ 4:59 pm

Thanks for the information. I have upgraded my sig 320 with your flat advanced trigger purchased from a dealer in Canada. So far my plan is to keep using my Sig 320 the way it is unless there factory modification is SIGnificant enough to warrant the fix.

  3. Armi - August 10, 2017 @ 8:13 pm

You guys are on it. Thank you

  4. Levi Worts - August 10, 2017 @ 9:01 pm

This I should what a responsible company in the gun industry looks like. I bought a Flat Enhanced Trigger for my P320 but I sold the gun a month ago out of pure coincidence. I loved that trigger. In fact I just bought one for my Glock before I saw this statement, and now I’m glad I did. Keep up this kind of integrity and responsibility and you have a customer for life. SIG could learn a thing or two from you.

  5. Len - August 11, 2017 @ 11:33 am

Boy!!! I wish you guys made air bags for cars!!! Precaution instead of profit…what a concept…

  6. Gene S. - August 11, 2017 @ 8:29 pm

Excellent Response to the Sig recall. It’s encouraging to know that there are still companies that put the customer first .

  7. Craig - August 15, 2017 @ 8:43 am

Thank you. I really like my flat trigger on my P320. I am hopeful that the proposed Sig modifications announced on Monday 8/14 will solve all of the issues, such that when you get your R&D Guns back from modification, your own tests will show that the Apex flat trigger will be ok to continue to use (and I don’t have to RMA mine back to you).

Is there a time limit on the RMA/credit offer?

  8. Robert Jones - August 15, 2017 @ 2:01 pm

Thanks for leading the way for responsibility and accountability in the gun industry. I believe your company is acting out of genuine concern for customer safety with the Sig P320 issues. I just returned an advanced flat trigger I purchased from another company for a full refund minus return shipping. I will continue to support Apex with future purchases.

  9. Robertr Vegvary - August 15, 2017 @ 2:12 pm

I purchased an Apex Flat Trigger for my then new Sig P-320 several months ago (direct from Apex) & had it installed by a local gunsmith. Should I be concerned? Should I have the original Sig trigger reinstalled?

Ultimately, I do plan to have the “voluntary upgrade” done to my P-320. What do you advise?

  10. Gary Moore - August 15, 2017 @ 2:57 pm

I purchased a flat trigger a few months ago. How will Apex address those customers?

  11. paul - August 15, 2017 @ 2:57 pm

Robert, we recommend you contact our customer service team at (623) 322-0200 and they will be happy to assist you. Thanks.

  12. paul - August 15, 2017 @ 2:59 pm

There is not a “time limit.”

  13. paul - August 15, 2017 @ 3:11 pm

Please call our customer service at (623) 322-0200 for guidance. Thanks.

  14. Bill - August 15, 2017 @ 5:29 pm

    Keeping mine!
If you’re unable to retain a weapon, you shouldn’t be allowed to carry any weapon!

  15. Bill - August 15, 2017 @ 5:31 pm

    Great Trigger!

  16. Al - August 15, 2017 @ 10:17 pm

My plan is to keep the flat Apex trigger installed for now as I like it better, it seems more resistant to the drop issue than the factory trigger, and and then swap back to the factory trigger just before sending the 320 in for the voluntary upgrade. From the looks of the army version it doesn’t seem like they added a plastic tab so hopefully the Apex flat trigger will still work and still be drop safe post upgrade. No time limit for the RMA & credit so the return decision can wait.

  17. Val - August 16, 2017 @ 10:09 am

I will purchase something from you in the future as soon as I get back to the USA.
What a great company you have,,,,
You have my full support and purchase promise
    thank you!!!!

  18. William Shelton - August 16, 2017 @ 11:27 am

Do y’all manufacture a trigger or a metallic or alloy safety for the FNX 9mm pistols

  19. ia - August 16, 2017 @ 2:36 pm

You guys are handling this P320 situation a lot more responsibly and stand up than Sig are. Thank you. I hope that if your flat triggers aren’t compatible with the “upgraded” P320, you’ll develop a new one. You guys seem like a great company, looking forward to doing business with you again. I hope Sig’s awfulness doesn’t too much damage to you!

  20. Gary - August 16, 2017 @ 3:23 pm

I’ll be keeping mine also. Once the sig upgrades are done I’ll evaluate.

  21. paul - August 21, 2017 @ 1:45 pm

We do not have any products for the FNX pistol.

  22. Randy - August 22, 2017 @ 11:20 am

Stand up response from a Stand Up company. Glad you guys are in the business.

  23. Jan Jansen - August 23, 2017 @ 11:33 am

I bought a Flat Advanced trigger for my P-32 RC Compact and love it. I’ll put the factory trigger back in before sending the gun back to Sig, but I’m hanging onto your trigger in the hope that the Sig fix and further testing will prove that I can reinstall your trigger. I find it a bit hard to believe that, even with the G’s generated by dropping, the mass of the trigger could contribute significantly to an accidental discharge, as Sig has claimed. I just don’t think there’s enough mass in the trigger to generate the inertia required to fire the weapon. I may be totally wrong, but I just don’t but that explanation and I think it’s just a smokescreen for a design defect, especially given the fact that Sig is making other modifications as well, including a lockout of some sort. I’m putting my money on your trigger eventually being proven to be just fine. In any case, my compliments on the integrity you’ve shown and how you’ve been proactive in your handling of the issue. Other companies could learn a thing or two. This is my second Apex trigger (I also have one in my M&P C.O.R.E.) and it won’t be my last!

  24. Mike - August 23, 2017 @ 1:29 pm

I heard Sig would also cut the connectors as part of their fix. Can anyone tell me what that means and what that accomplishes?
As for me, I’m gonna wait. I’ve never dropped a gun or a motorcycle and I’m not going to start now. If the P320 meets U.S. gun safety standards without the fix, that is good enough for me!

  25. Mike porter - August 27, 2017 @ 10:03 am

Will the Apex trigger work in the upgraded sig pistol.

  26. Bill Willroth - August 29, 2017 @ 2:37 pm

I purchased your flat trigger from you and plan to continue to use it. I like the trigger, it performs great! I really feel there will no problems with it. Besides, I’m not in the habit of dropping my guns on their slide backs. Thank you for your concerns!!

  27. Rick - August 31, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

I have your Flat-faced Action Enhancement Trigger for my P320 in .45 ACP. I will be keeping my trigger and pistol as modified. I appreciate your willingness to refund my purchase. However, I feel confident that this pistol, in it’s current state, will render safe reliable service as long as I do my part. Thanks for your offer.

  28. Joe - September 5, 2017 @ 8:36 am

I’m keeping mine , works and feels great , hope it works with the upgrade. Stand up company.

  29. Luke H - September 10, 2017 @ 8:11 pm

Will the apex trigger work with the upgrade is my question?…

  30. paul - September 15, 2017 @ 10:41 am

Not yet known. We have not had an updated P320 to test our triggers with.

  31. paul - September 15, 2017 @ 10:44 am

No idea until we can get one of the pistols to do the testing.

  32. Richard Welty - November 2, 2017 @ 10:02 pm

Hi, has the 320 trigger problem been resolved yet?
I need a solution for my 320. It pulls 8 lbs on my Lyman. Please let me know what you suggest. Along with many others, you have my trust.
    Thanks, Rick

  33. James - November 4, 2017 @ 6:52 am

I have my P320 back from upgrade now and really would like to have a flat trigger on it. Do you plan to create a new flat trigger? Thank you!

  41. Joe U - December 14, 2017 @ 1:19 pm

    Apex Team,

Now that the dust is starting to settle with the Sig 320 Trigger upgrades; can you say that the flat, advanced or enhanced, triggers are compatible with the upgraded trigger assemblies? I have the Flat trigger Advanced, and I have been doing the waiting game. My upgrade came, but I wanted to check with you if the flat advanced trigger (original) will work post Sig trigger upgrade. If not, I will probably send it in for store credit. Thoughts?I would prefer to keep the trigger and run it with the new upgraded internals. Thanks.

  42. Shaun - December 14, 2017 @ 8:36 pm

Paul, are they a new design or just started production of the standard design again?

  46. paul - December 19, 2017 @ 2:01 pm

You need to contact customer service to return/exchange your trigger for the one for the upgraded P320.

  47. Bobby T - December 28, 2017 @ 10:49 pm

When I purchased my 320 it had a very nice trigger. Now after the Saftey upgrade pulling the trigger is like towing a car. Does your company intend to make any upgrades for the “new and improved” version of trigger that SIG is now installing?

  48. paul - January 4, 2018 @ 10:54 am

Our new triggers for the factory upgraded P320 are now available for purchase.

  49. Recruit.Willer - January 10, 2018 @ 4:21 pm

I have the old trigger, what is the difference in the new one offered? Do you recommend I swap it out? I haven’t had the voluntary fix.

  50. paul - January 11, 2018 @ 1:44 pm

We recommend you send your pistol in for the safety upgrades that Sig Sauer is performing. Our new triggers are for use in the factory upgraded pistols.
