Apex Aluminum AEK Triggers for the M&P

Apex Announces New Aluminum AEK Triggers for M&P Pistols

LOS OSOS, Calif. – In response to the soaring popularity of the Forward Set Sear (FSS) and Trigger Kit, Apex Tactical Specialties, Inc. (Apex) announces the upcoming release of their new Action Enhancement Kit (AEK) Trigger, a new addition to their growing line of drop in parts for the Smith & Wesson M&P pistol.

Designed to work as a stand-alone drop in part, or in conjunction with either Apex’s Duty Carry or Competition Action Enhancement Kits, the AEK Trigger delivers improved trigger control with reduction in both pre-travel and over-travel.
“When we released the Forward Set Sear and Trigger Kit, we were inundated with requests from customers for a similar trigger that could work with our popular Action Enhancement Kit, or as a stand-alone item,” said Randy Lee, president of Apex. “Like all Apex parts the new AEK Trigger gives our customers the enhanced performance they demand in a duty carry gun or in competition.”

The new AEK Trigger is machined from a solid piece of aluminum billet and hard coat anodized for durability. With ergonomics similar to the FSS Trigger, and a center-mounted pivoting safety design, the AEK Trigger provides outstanding performance with increased safety values over other designs.

Retailing for $74.95, the new AEK trigger will be available April 9th from ApexTactical.com, as well as through Apex’s network of dealers and distributors. For those interested in maintaining a close to stock outward appearance to their pistol, Apex is developing a polymer trigger offering similar benefits to the alloy triggers which will be available later this year.

Will this trigger allow enough room for a Massachusetts trigger return spring to be used with out any binding?

  2. scott - March 23, 2012 @ 8:44 am

Yes it will. We designed it so it will work with any M&P trigger return spring presently available.

  3. Adam - March 25, 2012 @ 2:02 am

What will the trigger pull be?

This is awesome! The only thing left that I didnt like about my M&Ps has been rectified. Thank you Apex, You truly do care and listen to your customers.

I find it strange companies such as yours are few and far between.

just ordered the aek trigger for my full size 9mm,so this leaves the fre extractor to be the last thing i`ll need to put on it from apex tactical to date!since randy doesn`t make firing pins for these yet(hint!,hint!),i guess i`ll have to get the newer designed one from s&w because if dry fired alot it can break on you.

well as usual, randy`s people got my trigger to me on monday april 9 and this included a weekend!that trigger blows away the spongie factory one by a mile!with everything i`ve installed from apex tactical(this being a duty carry),it feels like a competition setup!this trigger combined with the ram and the APEX M&P DUTY/CARRY ACTION ENHANCEMENT KIT (DCAEK)is incredible!i wish randy would sell a captured dual recoil reducer and upgraded firing pins, then he would have the total package!thanks again randy for allowing me to have the baddest m&p on the range!

Just installed on my M&P Pro. Definitely better than the stock trigger. I would suggest though, that the the trigger be rounded instead of flat. If you shoot with your joint on the trigger vice the pad of the finger it doesn’t release the trigger safety. But all in all a lot better than the stock trigger.

How does this trigger compare to the fss. I have the competition kit in right now and this would be half the price of the fss.

This kind of attention and delivery is what sets companies apart. Looking forward to seeing this piece in live action.

  14. Gene - November 25, 2015 @ 8:50 am

    Big Thanks to APEX!!!

    Purchased a New 2015 9mm S&W MP Performance Pro Ported 5″
The trigger set up from the factory does need some work. Bought the APEX competition spring kit, reset assist kit, and the Aluminum forward set sear and trigger kit.

WOW big different, trigger pull is a little over 2lbs and the reset is a lot more noticeable now. Thank you for a great product!!!

One more thing…………….APEX customer service is outstanding.

    Thanks Again, Gene
