Installing The Apex Mk IV Kits
For those of you with a Ruger Mk IV model pistol, and a new Apex Action Enhancement Kit to go in it, the installation process is easier than you'd think. Scott Folk walks you through the step-by-step process for disassembly and reassembly of the frame in these new videos. If you run into any trouble while installing your kit, be sure to contact our customer service team at (623) 322-0200 for assistance.
That said, I replaced my mk IV .22/.45 trigger today, and there is something missing from the disassembly video for it. The trigger pivot pin in the .22/.45 is held in place by a spring on the right side of the trigger that presses up into a notch on the pin. The pin does not like to move with that spring in place. Simply depress the spring slightly with a slim tool (I used a flat blade jeweler's screwdriver) and the pivot pin will slip free. Fortunately the awesome customer service rep here had the same difficulty I did and knew exactly what to tell me. Kudos to Apex!
