Details
This Apex Optic Mount is designed to securely mount Holosun 509T Footprint optics to the GLOCK® Gen 6 Optic Ready slides. This Mount is machined from a billet of steel and black PVD finished for enhanced corrosion resistance. The mount and screws are manufactured by Apex in the Free State of Arizona.
The Damper is placed in the cavity under the front of the mount to dampen vibration and close the light gap between the mount locking key and the slide.
Sight Co-Witness Caution:
An optic installed on this mount, will not co-witness with the factory sights. The end user, will need to supply and install a set of Suppressor height sights if they want a co-witness type sight picture.
Why Steel vs Aluminum:
We get this question all the time. A slide on a modern 9mm pistol experiences approximately 3000g of acceleration per shot. Aluminum optic mounts are simply not suited to handle that much force. In our early mount testing, we sampled 6061 and 7075 aluminums for optic mounts but found that the rails tore off the base of the mount after just a few thousand rounds. Reliability is everything in optic mounts, so we opted to go with steel for all slide ride optic mounts.
