LOS OSOS, Calif. – Apex Tactical Specialties announced it will once again be the presenting sponsor of the King of New England Series. The King of New England is a three event concurrent competition taking place during the IDPA shooting season and will feature four stages from each of New England’s three biggest IDPA championships. Match directors from the 19th Massachusetts State IDPA Championship (June 11-12), the New England Regional IDPA Championship (August 20-21) and the Live Free Or Die State IDPA Championship (October 1-2) are working together to provide IDPA members this unique and fun specialty title challenge. “Apex is very pleased to once again present the King of New England Series for New England’s top IDPA shooters,” said Scott Folk of Apex. “This format encourages cooperation between match directors and offers local IDPA members a fun competition structure that helps promote increased match participation in the region.” The first leg of the King of New England challenge, the 19th Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, will take place June 1-2 at the Woburn Sportsmen’s Association in Bedford, Mass. The second leg of the contest will take place August 20-21 during the New England Regional IDPA Championship at the Harvard Sportsmen's Club in Harvard, Mass. The King of New England series will wrap up at the Live Free Or Die State IDPA Championship being held at the Pioneer Sportsmen Club in Dunbarton, New Hampshire, October 1-2. The King of New England title will be awarded in each of the five IDPA divisions – Custom Defensive Pistol, Enhanced Service Pistol, Stock Service Pistol, Compact Carry Pistol and Revolver – and is based on the best combined score from the 12 selected King of New England stages. In order to win the title of King of New England a shooter much compete in the same IDPA division in all three participating matches.
