PEORIA, Ariz. – Apex Tactical Specialties announces its latest Dream Gun, a custom Glock 22 built in collaboration with noted firearms customizers Ben Simonson of Boresight Solutions, Pike Spraggins of MOD 1 Firearms and Mike Follett of Rampart Gunworks. The one-of-a-kind Glock build will be on display during the 2017 SHOT Show as part of the Brownells Dream Guns® Project in the Brownells booth (#13018). The Brownells Dream Guns® Project was started in 2011 to help feature the wide range of parts and accessories available from Brownells that customers can use to upgrade and customize their own pistols, rifles and shotguns. To date over 100 Dream Guns® have been built and are available for review at Brownells.com. “We’ve always admired the work that Ben Simonson has done with the Glock pistol, so when we had the opportunity to produce another Brownells Dream Gun utilizing our Glock trigger, we reached out to Ben and asked him to come up with something that was both unique and met his rigid fighting gun performance requirements. The result is unlike any of Ben’s other guns, a true one-of-a-kind, yet still maintains the high level of fighting performance Ben demands in his pistols,” explained Randy Lee, founder and CEO of Apex. The unique look of the Glock 22 Dream Gun is the result of this team’s collaboration which features Boresight’s outstanding grip and frame enhancements, extensive slide work from MOD 1 and a complementary Cerakote color scheme from Rampart Gunworks. The pistol incorporates Apex’s Action Enhancement Kit for Glock which includes the Apex Ultimate Safety Plunger, Apex Performance Connector and a Red Apex Action Enhancement Trigger. Additionally, Simonson specified select accessories designed to enhance the pistol’s performance, the same accessories he uses in the numerous pistols he builds for law enforcement officers around the country. These include a Raven Concealment Freya Magwell, Vickers Tactical Magazine Release, Vickers Tactical Slide Stop and 10-8 Performance Fiber Optic Sight Set. Also contributing to the build was flashlight and weapon light manufacturer Inforce which supplied one of their popular APL 200 lumen pistol lights. However, it’s the custom work of Boresight Solutions, MOD 1 Firearms and Rampart Gunworks that gives the pistol its striking appearance. MOD 1 Firearms machined the slide, giving it front and rear wrap-around serrations, a full slide bevel, read top dish cut, a slide top relief cut and slide side lightening cuts. The gray with black and red accents finish of the slide, frame and Inforce APL light is the result of the Cerakote work of Rampart’s Mike Follett, a factory trained and certified Cearkote finisher who utilized a combination of Graphite Black, Smith & Wesson Red and his own Rampart Gray custom color mix. What completes the pistol, and will be most recognizable to fans of custom Glocks, is the signature work of Ben Simonson. It features his Level 1 Signature Series grip package, with sharp texture and finger grooves removed, Boresight’s Razorback backstrap profile modification, glove bevel, magazine release scallop, reverse magazine release scallop, trigger guard memory groove (textured), frame index points recessed and textured, and custom contrast Cerakote integration with grip work. The upgraded and customized Apex Glock 22 Dream Gun is valued at over $3,325 and will be on display throughout the 2017 SHOT Show in the Brownells booth where it is sure to garner a great deal of attention from show attendees.
