Apex Update On Gen 5 Glock Trigger
On August 26, Glock, Inc. released the new Gen 5 G17 and G19 to the world. That same day we purchased a Glock 19 off the shelf here in the Phoenix area and set to work doing what Apex does best. Just 12 days later, we shared a video of the Gen 5 Glock 19 with the prototype of our new Apex trigger installed.
Now just over a month after introduction of the new pistol, Apex is announcing the upcoming release of the Apex Action Enhancement Trigger for Gen 5 Glock pistols. This trigger offers the same performance as our other Glock triggers by reducing over travel and providing a shorter reset.
The new trigger has been designed to specifically accommodate the Gen 5’s new ambidextrous slide lock lever and will only work in the Gen 5 models. Our current Action Enhancement Trigger for the Gen 3/4 models will not fit or function in the new Gen 5 frame.
Our new Gen 5 trigger will come pre-installed on an Apex Gen 5 Trigger Bar that fits both the G17 and G19 Gen 5 models, allowing Glock owners to simply swap out the trigger and trigger bar so they can easily return it to the stock configuration as needed.
Apex will also be offering an Action Enhancement Kit which in addition to the trigger on trigger bar includes an Apex Performance Connector to reduce the trigger pull to approximately the mid 5 lbs range.
Additionally, we’ve tested and verified that the Apex Failure Resistant Extractor for the Gen 3 Glock will function in the new Gen 5 pistols.
Over the last 30 days the design team here at Apex has been prototyping and testing the new Gen 5 trigger design to insure proper performance in the new model pistols. We are happy to report that the new trigger is already in production and we plan to officially release the Action Enhancement Trigger and Action Enhancement Kit for Gen 5 Glocks mid October.
