Apex Flat Trigger Compatible With New Walther Q5 Match
Apex Flat Trigger Compatible With New Walther Q5 Match
LOS OSOS, Calif. – Apex Tactical Specialties announced that their Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger designed for the Walther PPQ line of pistols is also compatible with Walther’s newly introduced Q5 Match model.
The Apex Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger for the PPQ is designed to reduce overall trigger travel by approximately 40% without noticeably reducing the factory trigger pull weight. Featuring an anodized aluminum trigger body with center mounted pivoting safety, the trigger comes mounted on an Apex Tuned Trigger Bar and is a direct drop-in replacement of the factory trigger and trigger bar.
In addition to reducing overall travel, the Apex design provides a smooth uptake and reset, shortens the reset, and delivers a crisp trigger break, giving the pistol a 1911 like feel and making it an ideal upgrade for both competitive shooters and fans of the Walther PPQ.
The new Apex Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger with Apex Tuned Trigger Bar for the Walther PPQ, part #118-110, sells for $129.95, and fits the new Q5 Match, as well as both the PPQ M1 and M2 models in 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP. It is available for purchase from ApexTactical.com, AIM Surplus, Brownells.com, MidwayUSA and Natchez Shooters Supplies.
Dealers and distributors can order the new trigger through distributors RSR and Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, or by contacting Apex at [email protected] or calling (805) 528-5250.

I own a 5 inch 9mm PPQ M2 which I intend to use for completion.Do you offer the slide for the Q5. I checked with Walther who indicated to me that it was interchangeable with my gun
Hi I have a ppq q5 that I would like to replace with your apex trigger please supply part no so as I can order through hyperfire Australia Kind regards Geoff Byrne
I like flat faced triggers. I have a Q5 match Walther. I have also saw some negative reviews of the apex trigger in the Q5 match. Several reviews state it will make the trigger pull at 4 to 4.5 lbs. I would like to shorten the pretravel up on this firearms trigger pull, but I would like the trigger pull to stay about the same. Flat faced triggers usually reduce felt pull by about 1lb.
I'm curious that this works on the Match but not the SF. Haven't looked but thought it was the same trigger control group; guess not. Any updated ETA on one compatible for the SF at this time? Thanks.
APEX...if your waiting to see what the demand will be for the PPQ SF trigger...it's already here! I work at a gun range/store and this is the hottest gun in the market right now. I finally able to procure one myself with the understanding the first thing I would do to the pistol is put an APEX trigger in it...waiting patiently?
It's a matter of understanding the differences between the polymer frames and the steel frame. Some change have to be made in order for our trigger to function the way we expect it to, and that takes time. Not to mention that we have a ton of other projects in the works already.
Hi, may I ask, what is the hold up on making a trigger for the Q5 SF. You didnt hesitate doing so for the polymer version. The German flat trigger will not make it here. So whats the problem. Not enough money to be made?
We can't get into the details of the delays. The system is similar but not the same and has required a fair amount of troubleshooting on our end to make a trigger that does all of the things we want it to do.
We're extremely busy right now with a dozen other larger products that require our R&D resources. The SF trigger is in the que for final prototyping, once done it will go through drop testing(OUCH!) and test fire.
With any luck, the trigger will be ready to release by the end of the year.
Hello Paul and Scott,
When you do have the Q5 SF trigger ready to go into production, can you please offer a BLUE anodized trigger version (with black trigger safety blade), so that it will look "right" on the SF and match the available blue anodized mag well and mag base offerings? I will buy one the second it is available for purchase.
Please, please, please make the trigger for the Walther Q5 Match in "Walther blue", like the stock trigger. I'm sure Walther owners would be willing to pay extra, if necessary.
Just in case it hadn't been said, please make a trigger for the Q5 SF.
It is the only thing I would change with this pistol. Too much take up in the trigger. The weight I'm ok with, but I hate pulling through a .5" of nothing before the sear trips.
Hi Paul, when you do release the Q5 SF trigger, can you at least commit to offering it in blue? It costs the same to anodize in blue vs black. A blue trigger just looks "right" on the SF.
I have your trigger in my poly q5 and loved it . Moved to the steel frame and im really missing the Apex.
The walther "expert" triggers arnt coming to Oz any time soon and look to not meet the updated ipsc rules on trigger replacements which now state if the oem trigger has a safery then the replacement also must have it.
APEX is the only solution
As with other commentators please offer in Walther blue.
Regards
Mark
Hello gents
Do you think you will have the Q5 SF trigger (in blue) ready before Christmas? I need to tell Santa something, and I'd rather get this trigger than another package of tube socks.
We're sure trying, but not sure if we can get them done in time, the anodizer shop shuts down relatively early for an end of year maintenance so we might not have them in time.
You will officially become my new hero if you can deliver a shiny new Q5 SF trigger before New Years. But it must be blue before I fork over my hard earned cash! A blue Apex and the SF just belongs together like peas and carrots!
I take that back; I’d still buy your trigger even if it was boring ol’ black, but I’d probably cry myself to sleep like a teenage girl every night over what coulda been!
Then I’d probably strip it back down to bare aluminum and anodize it blue anyway, just out of spite!!!
Hi Ted, We're working on it, but not sure if we can make it before 1-1-2020, the anodize shops all take their sweet time this time of year to get things finished.
Just checking back in on the SF version of this trigger.
I've been contemplating getting my wife an apple watch. I am perfectly willing to sacrifice her Christmas present if this trigger is released before the holidays. She doesn't know about my plan, but she understands that compromise makes marriage work. She's a trooper. I'll buy her and I matching Apex hats if you can make this happen.
You don't want my wife to be hatless for Christmas do you?
The latest samples came off the machine today. All is looking good. They have to go out for Anodize, then test fire, then Drop test, but provided all pass, we should be good to go.
Alrighty boys, we've all been patient. I have CC in hand and excitedly waltzed over to the Apex site to buy my new BLUE Q5 SF trigger that I was assured would be ready soon after SHOT, only to be punted in the junk by the cold hard reality that my hopes are once again dashed! In the name of all that's good and holy, it's time to stop yer lolligagging and get this done already! The fate of the Free World depends on it!
The shop is absolutely slammed and we finally have the next batch of samples in hand and ready for testing. Now we just need to get them tested and approved for production.
4/2/20 - what’s the status of this trigger? I’ve held off on hoarding toilet paper during this pandemic to ensure I had sufficient funds for my new Apex Q5 SF trigger in Walther blue! Now I’m having to use old socks instead!
Were stalled on the final testing of this due to the present ammo shortage. We haven't forgotten about you guys and are doing everything we can to make it go.
As for your socks, I hope you stocked up on bleach. ;)
Can’t wait for the new Blue Trigger!! I need this is my life!
Thanks for your teams hard work! Please can I be on an email list, so I know when it gets released , so I can make sure to get my order in ASAP? ?
Thanks
hey paul and scott...... its almost october 2020 ...... q5 match sf trigger ready yet ????? at this point you could make it in any damn color and it will be fine ..... just please bring it to market ...... cheers ....
Hey guys, it’s been nearly a year now since you announced you were close to releasing a trigger for the Q5 SF. Now that Walter has released SF versions of the Q4, an SF Apex trigger is even more viable than before, as the frames are identical for Q5 and Q4 SF pistols. I realize 9mm ammo has been scarce, but I’ve still been able to find it. How many rounds are really needed to prove the concept? The difference between a trigger for the SF pistols shouldn’t be THAT radically different from the already proven PPQ series trigger.
Should we SF owners continue holding out hope or have you given up on this product?

Thanks.
If possible, Please give us a time frame when trigger set will be available for for SF model?

Val.

We're on it, I promise. We're making a few little tweaks to get it where we want it and are doing everything we can to make it go.
Note: hope trigger is in Walther blue and not all black. Don’t disappoint me now...
